Lenovo Y580 Laptop
The Lenovo Y580 is a sleek budget gaming laptop with a metal cool palmrest, backlit keyboard, and some pretty decent performance under the hood.
Looking for the best budget gaming laptop? Check out the Lenovo Y580 key features:
- 2.3GHz Intel Core i7-3630QM processor
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 2GB dedicated graphics
- 6GB DDR3 ram
- Preloaded with Windows 8
- 15.6” HD display (1366×768)
- 750GB hard drive
- Two USB 3.0 ports
- DVD Burner
While other laptops in this price range may include faster processors, they often lack dedicated graphics. The Y580’s GeForce GTX 660M dedicated graphics card is an upper mid-range, Kepler based DirectX 11.1 compatible GPU. Dedicated graphics cards allow a greater video editing, and gaming experience. When searching for a laptop for gaming, make sure your new system contains dedicated graphics as opposed to simply integrated (on the CPU) graphics.
This is one of those gems that may not look flashy from the outside, but it’s got it where it counts. You will be hard pressed to find another budget gaming laptop with this type of performance. You will be able to play old games on high settings, and newer games on medium to high settings (Think Skyrim, BF3, etc.). The battery gets around 3hrs during mix activity use. It should be noted that this screen is not full 1080p resolution. However, this allows the laptop to play games at native/full resolution easier since the output resolution is smaller. Overall this is a great choice for those looking for a fast computer for a relatively low price.
Summary: Not the best looker at the party but it makes up for it with beastly graphics and a fast processor.
